What Our Clients Say
In every capacity, Bob has proven to be a highly organized and meticulous collaborator whose broad formative and summative evaluation expertise has been invaluable to ensuring the success of my STEM education research and professional development projects. Bob’s dedication as an external evaluator goes well beyond delivering the required rigorous, independent evaluation services on sponsored research projects. What sets Bob apart is his central commitment to helping the Project Investigators design and build a robust evaluation plan from the very conception of a project idea all the way through the final grant reporting obligations at the conclusion of a project.

Working with Bob has been a real pleasure. His evaluation skills are superb and his response time in providing both formal reports and informal feedback is remarkable. Every year, he has helped us identify the areas in which the greatest improvement can be made to continually raise the quality of the REU programming, and we have implemented his suggestions to enhance our approaches.
That said, his most important characteristics are his passion for excellence, his insistence on continuous improvement, and his ability to keep in focus that the real goal of the programs he evaluates are the end users—in our case, our students.

Dr. Tornberg’s years of experience in the world of education have proven invaluable to us as he continues to guide us through the assessment and ongoing development of our “Standup & Learn Kids Educational Program.” It has not only been Dr. Tornberg’s knowledge of the material that has been inspiring, but the joy and enthusiasm with which he has conducted the work with us. It has made the whole process much more enjoyable.

In my own work, Dr. Tornberg has become a personal mentor to me. My position with Title III involves “creating an onboarding process to include a compulsory First-Year Experience as a graduation requirement”. Over the past twenty years, multiple FYE initiatives have been proposed but failed to be adopted. Consequently, there has never been a defined First-Year Experience at Jefferson putting us behind other community colleges throughout the country. Cognizant of past failures at the College, Dr.Tornberg formed and facilitated a systematic evaluation and assessment plan to assist me with the ambitious task of creating College Foundations, a student success course that every new student must take. His thoughtful planning and expansive knowledge of program evaluation was instrumental in securing campus-wide support for an initiative with many logistical and financial challenges.
